Drift Bound
A Carried System for the Present Moment
Drift Bound EDC spread
Here. Now.
That's what this series is about.
Drift Bound started with a feeling — the kind you get standing at the edge of something. Salt in the air, a worn map under your hands, no agenda. Just presence. These pieces were built to carry that energy into your everyday.
The Philosophy
I don't make gear. I make artifacts.
There's a difference. Gear is optimized. Artifacts are felt. When you reach into your pocket and your hand closes around something from this collection, it should register — the weight, the texture, the warmth of the finish. That response isn't accidental. Every material choice, every knot, every coat of wax was made with that moment in mind.
Drift Bound is a carried system — a lighter, a pen, a field notes journal cover — three things that together cover the basics of being alive and paying attention. Fire, thought, record.
The Materials
Everything starts with what it's made of.
Hemp cord for the Turk's knots. Cotton duck cloth that I wax myself by hand — no two pieces come out exactly the same. My signature grey bandana runs through the whole collection as lining, underlay, or braided cord. It looks different in each piece but it ties everything together.
No zippers. No complex hardware. Nothing that fails, snags, or needs replacing. Simplicity isn't a limitation here — it's the point. The fewer parts something has, the longer it lasts, and the more intentional it feels.
The Pieces
The Lighter Sleeve
Turns something disposable into something you keep. Wrapped in hemp and canvas, fitted to a standard Bic. It's the smallest piece in the collection and somehow the one people reach for the most.
The Pen
Hand-wrapped with cord and bandana cloth, then finished with a coat of shellac that gives it a warm, substantial feel. Closer to driftwood than plastic. You'll notice the difference the first time you pick it up.
The 2nd Brain
A waxed duck canvas cover for a Field Notes journal. This is where your thoughts land when you're out in the world. No lock, no password, no notification — just the page. Line the outside with canvas, tuck in the bandana, slip in your journal, and go. Everything worth remembering ends up here.
The Shot
The campaign image was shot on cardboard and edited with AI. Raw material, modern tool — felt right for a collection that lives in that same tension. Handmade but not precious. Grounded but not stuck in the past.
